Enid native Harold T. Holden, affectionately known as “H,” will join the prestigious Hall of Great Westerners at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum this April. Holden becomes only the 10th artist ever inducted, standing alongside his idols, Charles Marion Russell and Frederic Sackrider Remington.
Celebrating his lifelong contributions to Western art, Holden’s work spans from monumental sculptures across Oklahoma to a 5-foot-8-inch oil painting in the Oklahoma State Capitol. His creations capture the spirit and history of the American West, earning him recognition nationwide. As part of the Western Heritage Awards, Holden will receive the iconic bronze sculpture, The Wrangler, in honor of his achievements.
The induction also underscores Holden’s deep connection to Western culture—not only through his art but through his commitment to preserving its stories and inspiring future generations.
